Are we expensive? add

Yes. And intentionally so. A Chayas takes up to nine hours to create — handcrafted in Europe, using refined materials, under fair conditions, and with a precise attention to detail. Not made in volume, but made to last. Chosen with intention — and lived with, for a long time.

Where do you ship to? add

We ship across all European countries via our webshop.

If you’re located outside of Europe, feel free to reach out at hallo@chayas.de. We’ll arrange a considered shipping solution — whether to the US, Asia, or beyond.

Are Chayas dog carriers? add

Not in the way you might expect.

We see Chayas as a refined bag — with a secure place of rest for your dog.

It moves with you through the day. Carries your essentials. And offers your dog a familiar space — calm, protected, and close.

Whether you choose to carry dogs from around 6 kg and up is entirely up to you.

If you do — it’s designed to hold. Quietly, and without compromise.

Why Chayas? add

Because your dog feels when something is truly made for them.

A Chayas becomes that one place that says: you can rest here.

Soft. Protected. Familiar — wherever you are.

Amid movement, it creates a quiet space of its own.

You’ll notice it quickly: your dog settles faster, lets go, exhales.

And as they do, something shifts for you as well.

A sense of ease. Of connection.

Knowing your dog is safe — in a place that travels with you.

More than a mobile bed, it holds something quieter:

closeness, trust, and an understanding that doesn’t need words.

A place where your dog feels at ease — and you know everything is as it should be

Where do you use a Chayas? add

Wherever life happens together.

In a restaurant. A quiet café. While waiting. On journeys. Or simply beside you — on a bench, on the sofa, at home.

You place it down — and often, your dog is already there before you are.

Which size is right for you? add

Breed, size, or weight alone aren’t decisive. What matters more is how your dog prefers to rest — and whether they share their space.

Some curl up. Others stretch out. Some prefer closeness, others their own place. The Weekender adapts — your dog decides.

As a general guide:

Weekender

XS — 35 × 30 × 25 cm (up to 6 kg)

S — 45 × 35 × 25 cm (up to 10 kg)

M — 55 × 45 × 25 cm (up to 20 kg)

L — 65 × 55 × 25 cm (up to 35 kg)

Hideaway

S — Ø 55 cm, height 35 cm (up to 8 kg)

M — Ø 80 cm, height 50 cm (up to 20 kg)

In practice, more is often possible. An M can even be shared — if they choose to be close.

If you’re unsure, reach out. We’ll find the right fit — considered, not guessed.

and in the car? add

With responsibility.

Dogs must be secured in the car — metal crates are generally considered the safest option.

A Chayas can be fixed in place via the seat, and your dog should always wear a safety harness attached to the seatbelt.

We personally use it in the footwell — based on experience, not as a universal recommendation.

Which materials do we use? add

Refined vegan leather, high-quality textiles, and luxurious faux fur.

All materials are tested — chosen for their durability, feel, and considered aesthetic.

Where is it made? add

Designed in Munich, crafted in Europe.

We work with small, trusted workshops we know and value.

Depending on the piece, each Chayas takes between five and nine hours of careful handwork.

Who are Chayas made for? add

For those who seek softness, protection, and a sense of calm.

For people who value design — and the way it integrates into everyday life.

Short-haired dogs often take to it instantly. More sensitive dogs find a sense of security quickly.

Very large or more robust dogs may use it more casually — and that’s perfectly fine.

Where can you buy Chayas? add

Online, across Europe. For orders outside Europe, simply reach out to us at hallo@chayas.de — we’ll arrange a considered solution.

Selected pieces are also available in a small number of curated boutiques.

If you’re looking for one near you, send us your postcode.

Returns add

You may of course return or withdraw from your order — sometimes, it simply doesn’t feel right.

Items may only be inspected as you would in a store. They must remain unused, odor-free, and in perfect condition. Even minimal scent can affect a dog’s sensitivity and makes resale impossible.

Returns must be announced in advance. Unannounced, used, or scent-affected items cannot be accepted.

Care add

Simple, and designed for everyday use.

The outer material can be wiped clean with a damp cloth — even after heavier use, it returns easily to its original look.

For a deeper clean, treat your Chayas like fine wool:

machine wash on a wool cycle, cold, with a gentle wool detergent and low spin. No fabric softener.

Let it air dry — away from direct heat. Do not tumble dry.

The faux fur may appear slightly compact after washing. Once fully dry, gently brush it in both directions and shake it out to restore its softness and volume.

If you prefer, professional cleaning is always an option.

Responsibility add

We produce consciously, fairly, and in Europe.

For us, responsibility means creating pieces that last — using honest materials, and working with respect for people, animals, and the environment.

We also support selected animal welfare initiatives on a regular basis.
